This was stated by Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Dmytro Razumkov during a meeting with Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babys, the press service of the VR reported.
Participants of the meeting discussed issues of enhancing cooperation between Ukraine and the Czech Republic. Razumkov announced the creation of a deputy friendship group with Czech parliamentarians.
“I hope that the deputies will communicate more often. This will help to improve and deepen relations between the parliaments of our countries,” said the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, inviting Czech deputies to visit Ukraine.
Razumkov thanked the Czech Prime Minister for the continued support of Ukraine in matters of territorial integrity and the return of the temporarily occupied territories of Donbas and Crimea. He also spoke in support of intensifying cooperation within the framework of the Visegrad Four, the Baltic + group and the involvement of other countries in the work of this group.
“This is a good opportunity to give impetus to our cooperation in the international dimension, in particular in PACE. It is necessary to direct our joint actions towards the return of the basic principles that were laid down during the creation of the Council of Europe,” stressed the Chairman of VR.
Razumkov also expressed his concern about the situation with the implementation of Nord Stream-2 project and focused on the geopolitical security risks associated with it.
At the same time, according to Prime Minister Babis, “The Czech Republic condemns the annexation of Crimea, supports the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine. The Czech Republic is unconditionally on your side.”
