According to the report on financial stability, which was prepared by the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU), Ukraine must pay about USD 24 billion in foreign currency over three years.
“The Ukrainian government and the NBU jointly face foreign currency debt payment in excess of USD 24 billion in 2020 – 2022, including interest,” the NBU said.
Ukraine took above debts during crisis and a currency shortage.
According to information provided by the National Bank, the state itself will not be able to pay its currency debts. In this regard, part of the payments will have to be refinanced.
