On January 16, the illegal armed groups intensified sniper activity in the Joint Forces Operation (OOS) area in Donbas. This was reported by the JFO press center.
The enemy violated the ceasefire regime 12 times using 152mm and 122mm artillery systems, 120mm and 82mm mortars, grenade launchers of different systems, heavy machine guns and small arms, prohibited by the Minsk agreements.
In the zone of responsibility of the Skhid [East] tactical group, the enemy shelled Ukrainian positions near Novotroitske three times.
In the zone of responsibility of the Pivnich [North] tactical group , Russian occupation forces attacked 9 times: near Travneve, Novotoshkivske, Myronivske, Luhanske and Zaitseve.
An enemy sniper activity was recorded near Novozvanivka settlement. The enemy fired 19 shells near Horikhove settlement.
As a result of the shelling, one member of the Joint Forces was killed.
