Ukraine’s banks net profit up almost 4 times in H1 2019

In the first half of 2019, Ukrainian banks received 3.7 times more net profit compared to the same period last year. This was reported by the press service of the National Bank of Ukraine.

Solvent banks received UAH 31 billion of net profit in the first half of 2019. The banking system received a net profit of UAH 8.3 billion for the same period last year.

The regulator noted that, the income of banks for six months of this year increased in general by 31% to UAH 121 billion, expenses – by 7% to UAH 90 billion. it is specified that the majority of the banking system’s income was generated by PrivatBank (UAH 18.3 billion) and foreign banks (UAH 9 billion profit).

The National Bank noted that the profitability of the banking sector increased due to an increase in lending to the population.
