Ukraine’s Prime Minister Volodymyr Groisman stated that the Government would oblige Naftogaz to reduce gas prices for households. He said this during the governmental meeting broadcasted on YouTube official channel of the Cabinet of Ministers.
In addition, the Cabinet will also start checking regarding the gas prices set by the company.
The PM also added that the prices set by Naftogaz are higher than market prices for the June. For this reason, the Government has developed a document that will not allow the company to further abuse the price of natural gas.
“Insatiable […] We are going to make a decision today which will bring them back down to Earth,” Groisman said.
The head of the government summed up that the price of gas should be around UAH 7,700-8,000 per thousand cubic meters.
As The Journalist reported, from May gas prices for households will be different, depending on tariffs set by the regional gas companies.
