On May 15, the Cabinet of Ministers plans to consider a draft decision of the Association Council between Ukraine and the European Union on introducing amendments and addenda to the Association Agreement, and submit to the Parliament a draft law on ratification of these amendments.
This was reported by the Cabinet of Ministers.
Thus, the government plans to consider a draft decision of the Association Council between Ukraine and the EU on amendments and additions to Annex XXVII (energy) to the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU. Also, the government should introduce to the Verkhovna Rada a draft law “On ratification of the decision of the Association Council between Ukraine and the EU on making changes and amendments to Annex XXVII to the Association Agreement between Ukraine, on the one hand, and the European Union, the European Atomic Energy Community and their members, on the other hand.”
According to the document, Ukraine is obliged to consult with the European Commission on compatibility with the provisions of the acquis EU of any legislative proposal in the field of energy. In addition, Ukraine refrains from enacting acts before the European Commission completes the assessment of the compatibility of the draft law with the EU acquis and if the EC concludes that the draft does not comply with the EU requirements.
