Ukraine’s Constitutional Court elects new chairman and deputy chairman

Oleksandr Tupytsky has been elected chairman of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine during a secret ballot on Tuesday, September 17.

On the same day the Constitutional Court of Ukraine dismissed the former head of court, Natalia Shaptala in accordance with paragraph 4 of Part 2 of Article 149-1 of the Constitution of Ukraine, due to submission of a letter of resignation.

According to the court’s press service, the chairman of the Constitutional Court is elected for one three-year term.

Serhiy Holovaty was elected deputy chairman of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine.

As The Journalist reported, some Deputies from Servant of the People party against abolition of parliamentary immunity.
