The occupation administration started the so-called “census” on the non-governmental control territory of Donbas, the speaker of the Ministry of Defense, Dmytro Hutsuliak said, citing data from Ukrainian intelligence.
“On October 1, the Russian occupation administrations began the so-called “population census” in the temporarily occupied territory in Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts. All persons registered in the temporarily occupied territories before 2014 are subject to the census,” the speaker noted.
To Hutsuliak, the questioning includes traditional information about age, nationality, education, etc., as well as specific one related to formal or informal employment in public or private institutions, and issues related to social activity.
“At the same time, questioning caused outrage among a certain part of the citizens because of the need to answer personalized questions that can limit the rights and freedoms of respondents,” the representative of the Ministry of Defense noted.
