Ukraine’s international reserves reach USD 29 bn

Ukraine’s international reserves increased by 0.9% (by USD 246.22 million) in August 2020. As of September 1, reserves amounted to USD 29,048.71 million, according to the National Bank of Ukraine.

Since the beginning of the year, reserves have grown by 14.8% (USD 3,746.55 million) and exceeded USD 29 billion.

The regulator clarified that the dynamics of reserves during August was determined by set of factors, namely:

  • NBU operations in the interbank foreign exchange market.
  • government debt management operations.
  • revaluation of financial instruments (due to changes in market value and exchange rates).
