The head of the Ministry of Infrastructure Vladyslav Krykliy has announced his intention to liquidate the State Agency of Automobile Roads of Ukraine (Ukravtodor). Krykliy said this at a briefing on Tuesday, Dzerkalo Tuzhdnya reports.
The Minister of Infrastructure is planned to liquidate Ukravtodor after the winter period next year. Its functions can be transferred to the private sector, which is not connected with bureaucratic procedures and will be able to quickly purchase the best equipment.
The Minister noted unprofitableness of regional roads caused by a corruption factor in the use of state property.
He noted that, in his opinion, it is normal practice when private companies carry out the maintenance and operation of roads.
To avoid a conflict of interest, Ukravtodor may be deprived of the function of inspection of the roads, constructed and repaired by its orders.
As The Journalist reported, Police will use 115 TruCAM radar guns on Ukrainian roads from Nov 20.
