The customs authorities of Ukraine and Slovakia have agreed on the introduction of the exchange of information on vehicles and goods transported across the Ukrainian-Slovak border.
This was reported in the press service of the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine (SFS).
“After the agreements with our Slovak colleagues, reached at the end of March in Lviv, we agreed on their practical implementation. The exchange of information in electronic form will be launched at four Transcarpathian SFS customs checkpoints: “Uzhgorod – Vyšné Nemecké”, “Małe Berezne – Ubľa”, “Chop – Čierna nad Tisou” and “Pavlovo – Matevtse”. During these few weeks all the technical issues will be worked out at the expert level,” the press service quotes the acting head of the SFS, Oleksandr Vlasov, as saying.
This decision will allow the Ukrainian and Slovak customs officers to get information about the weight, range and customs value of the goods being transported before the goods arrive at the border, which in turn will speed up the clearance procedure and increase the trade turnover between the countries.
As The Journalist reported, Hungary and Slovakia want to expand Turkish Stream in order to receive gas bypassing Ukraine.
