Ministry of Digital Transformation will launch a digital literacy course for Ukrainians on January 21, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov said.

“We launch it on January 21st. I will say that this is the best, most world’s effective course,” the minister emphasized.

Fedorov noted that the project will not only be implemented through the online platform of the ministry.

“It is impossible to do this only via online platform. Therefore, in 2020 we will massively open educational offline hubs, where everyone can realize their right to free digital education,” the minister added.

Fedorov expressed hope that such hubs will appear in small cities and towns in a few years.

At the same time, according to Prime Minister Oleksiy Honcharuk, the government aims to significantly increase the level of digital literacy of at least 6 million Ukrainians.

“Our government set itself the goal to significantly advance the level of digital literacy of at least six million Ukrainians from the very beginning. This will give us a huge number of different opportunities,” the head of government said.

According to Honcharuk, increasing the level of digital literacy is a present-day requirement and should significantly enhance the competitiveness of the Ukrainian economy.

The Minister of Digital Transformation also added that they plan to achieve six million figure in 3 years.
