Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved decision on the implementation of the pilot project of selling timber through the system of electronic auctions, as well as introduce an electronic wood accounting system.
This was stated by Prime Minister of Ukraine Oleksiy Honcharuk following a government meeting.
“We will run a pilot project of selling wood through e-auctions from April 2020. We will also introduce a unified state system of electronic accounting of wood,” the head of government noted.
Thus, the sale of timber via modern e-services will ensure the proper sales volumes through an open procedure with competitive conditions.
“This will reduce corruption risks and increase revenues to the state budget,” Prime Minister said.
Recall that the State Forest Resources Agency of Ukraine has launched an electronic register of quotas for deforestation and an online logging map to monitor the legality of deforestation.
