Ukraine withdraws from another CIS agreement

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has signed a decree on Ukraine’s withdrawal from the Agreement on the Establishment of the Council of Heads of Financial Intelligence Units of the Member States of the Commonwealth of Independent States, the President’s Office said.

The corresponding decree No. 269/2020 was signed by the head of state on the eve of July 7.

“In accordance with paragraph 3 of the first part of Article 106 of the Constitution of Ukraine, pursuant to Article 54 of the Vienna Convention on the Law of Treaties and Article 8 of the Agreement on the Establishment of the Council of Heads of Financial Intelligence Units of the Member States of the Commonwealth of Independent States, I decree to withdraw from the Agreement on the Establishment of the Council of Heads of Financial Intelligence Units of the member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States, signed on December 5, 2012 in Ashgabat,” the document reads.

Zelensky also instructed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to notify the CIS Executive Committee of Ukraine’s withdrawal from this agreement.
