The artillery units of Operational Command West held exercises at military training ground in the Rivne Oblast, the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine informs.
“After the cross-country march, a battery of self-propelled howitzers entered a certain area to destroy enemy targets. After deployment, the gunners from a closed firing position provided covering fire for advancing infantry units,” the defense department said.
According to the commander of the self-propelled artillery battery, the artillery unit struck on the armament of combat vehicles, platoon support points, mortar batteries and infantry of conditional enemy. Also, were worked out tasks of choosing and arranging firing positions, conducting artillery reconnaissance and preparing baseline data for firing.
