Poltava region, Ukraine: January 18, several dozen local residents blocked traffic on the Kyiv-Kharkiv highway.

They protest against the increase in gas tariffs, according to the Telegram channel “Protest”.

“Residents of the city of Poltava came out to protest again, blocked the Kyiv-Kharkiv highway and demanded that Ukrainian-produced gas be sent exclusively to the needs of Ukrainian consumers, which would reduce the price of gas,” the message says.

The protesters demand lower tariffs for gas and its transportation and argue that the high gas price is unbearable for many Ukrainians.
