The Ukrainian delegation in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) made official decision to stop its work (in the PACE session) as the protest against the returning of the Russian delegation. This was announced by the head of the delegation Volodymyr Ariev on his Facebook page.
The Ukrainian delegation has decided to stop its participation in the PACE session, except for the issues with regard to loss of authority of the Russian delegation.
According to Ariev, the delegation is appealing to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine with a demand to consider urgently the ending of Ukraine’s participation in the PACE further activities.
The delegation is also appealing to the President and Foreign Ministry to define a clear position as for Ukraine’s further participation in the bodies of the Council of Europe.
