The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has decided to include the Mykolaiv Armoured Plant to the list of enterprises, which prohibited for privatization.
“The government also included the Mykolaiv armoured plant to the list of state property not subject to privatization, as it is one that is of strategic importance for the economy and security of Ukraine,” the government noted.
The Mykolaiv armoured plant carries out scheduled repairs and modernization of the BTR-80, BRDM-2, BTR-70 and equip them with diesel engines.
In addition, the enterprise has developed a number of modifications of armored vehicles, for example, the command and staff vehicle BTR-70Di-02 “Svityaz”, which was created as part of the construction of the Unified Automated Control System of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and is used in the Ukrainian army. The plant is developing its own new armored reconnaissance and patrol vehicle.
