Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov has said that the Ministry of Digital Transformation has agreed to cooperate with leading global cryptocurrency exchange, Binance.
“We signed a memorandum of understanding with one of the largest cryptocurrency exchanges in the world – Binance, and it actively began working to open its office in Ukraine. Most likely this will happen by the end of 2019,” Fedorov said.
According to the minister, Binance is one of the largest in the world in terms of money turnover.
“This is the billionth turnover. And part of the money that the exchange accumulates, and part of the transactions will take place on the territory of Ukraine, in our banks. We discussed this with the National Bank and talked with state banks regarding opening accounts of this exchange,” Fedorov emphasized.
Deputy Prime Minister believes that the opening of Binance office in Ukraine indicates the development of the legislative direction in the field of virtual assets and the cryptocurrency market.
“A large number of specialists who work in these companies will help to develop legislation. This is an additional hundreds of millions of taxes that our state will receive,” the minister emphasized.
