Ukrainian military arrive in Estonia to take part in Spring Storm drills

The largest three-week Spring Storm int’l exercise with the participation of Ukrainian soldiers kicked-off in Estonia on April 29.

As the local edition ERR arhiiv reported, over 9,000 people from 13 countries will take part in military exercises.

The servicemen will work out methods for synchronizing combat action plans, cooperation in command, and increased readiness to perform tactical tasks.

The military personnel from NATO tactical groups stationed in Estonia, military personnel from allied countries and coalition partners [arriving in Estonia for the time of the exercise], hundreds of vehicles – armored personnel carriers, infantry fighting vehicles and tanks will take part in the exercises.

Aircrafts and helicopters of the Estonian Air Force, as well as Eurofighter jets of the German and British Air Forces, the Polish Su-22 aircraft, the British and US Air Force helicopters Wildcat, Apache and Pavehawk will be involved in the drills.

Also, Estonian and allied warships will take part in the exercises: the most active part of the maneuvers involving naval sailors will take place on May 6 – 9 in the Tallinn and Lääne County ports.

According to preliminary plans, military personnel from Belgium, Great Britain, Germany, Georgia, Canada, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, US, Ukraine, Finland, France and Estonia will take part in the current Spring Storm exercises.

As The Journalist reported, US Army will be equipped with camouflage against thermal radiation.
