Ukrainian Prosecutor General Riaboshapka appoints SBU former official to be his deputy

Prosecutor General of Ukraine Ruslan Riaboshapka has appointed Viktor Trepak to the as Deputy Prosecutor General. This was reported by the PGO press service.

Since 2000, Trepak was called up for military service in the bodies of the Security Service of Ukraine, where he held operational and managerial positions. During the year, Trepak served as the first deputy chairman of the Security Service of Ukraine – the head of the Main Directorate for Combating Corruption and Organized Crime of the Central Administration of the Security Service of Ukraine. It is known that he took part in the arrest of Judge Ihor Zvarych in 2008.

In 2016, Viktor Trepak submitted documents to the National Anti-Corruption Bureau confirming the Party of Regions illegally paying cash to some officials (black bookkeeping). Trepak resigned from the SBU allegedly because of the impossibility of fighting corruption in the conditions when Viktor Shokin was the prosecutor general

As The Journalist reported, Riaboshapka appointed prosecutors of Odesa and Kharkiv oblasts.
