On the eve of August 20, the Ukrainian side has stopped dismantling their fortifications near Stanytsia Luhanska because the Russian side did not give consent and the occupation administration blocked these works.
This was reported by the Joint Forces Operation headquarters.
“The Ukrainian side of the Joint Center for Monitoring and Coordinating Ceasefire and Stabilization of the demarcation line reports that the Ukrainian military began dismantling fortifications at disengagement site No. 1 at 11:00 on August 20, as it was previously declared to the OSCE SMM and the Russian Federation,” headquarters noted.
However, the Russian side did not approve on the dismantling; therefore, the occupiers’ armed forces did not simultaneously begin dismantling, as a result of which the Ukrainian side was forced to stop work.
“Also, the Russian-led illegal armed forces of the Federation are threatened with the use of weapons, which should not be deployed on the disengagement site, the Ukrainian side was not allowed to carry out repair works on the destroyed part of the bridge,” the JFO headquarters emphasized.
As The Journalist reported, Militants deliberately delay dismantling of bridge fortifications in Stanytsia Luhanska.
