Law enforcers exposed officials of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine and their accomplice on receiving UAH 200 thousand bribe, the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine reported.
Thus, with the active assistance of the Minister of Justice of Ukraine, one of the heads of the directorates of the Department of State Registration and Notary of the Ministry of Justice, deputy head of the same administration and an individual-accomplice were exposed and detained.
They extorted and received undue profit in the amount of UAH 200 thousand for not impeding the activities of one enterprise, which operated in the sphere of state registration of rights to real estate and their encumbrances.
At present, investigation activities continued. Bribe takers are faced with a jail term of five to ten years, with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or to engage in certain types of activity for a period up to three years with or without confiscation of property.
As «The Journalist» reported, the level of bribery and corruption in Ukraine increased to 73%.
