Ukrainian pharmaceutical companies fined for inflating prices for medicines

The Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine (AMCU) fined four Ukrainian pharmaceutical companies nearly UAH 18 million following the results of the consideration of the case on violation of the legislation on the protection of economic competition in the form of anticompetitive concerted actions.

According to the press service of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine, the «Roche Ukraine» company has concluded sales and purchase agreements with the companies LTD «BaDM», «Business Center Pharmacy» and «Alba Ukraine», as a result of which the medications were sold through state or public procurement procedures in unreasonable prices in 2012-2016.

For violations the next companies were fined:

«Roche Ukraine», fined for UAH 9.1 million;
LTD «BaDM», fined for UAH 5,4 million;
«Business Center Pharmacy», fined for UAH 3.2 million;
«Alba Ukraine», fined for UAH 0.3 million.

The AMCU also ordered to the pharmaceutical companies to stop violations within two months from the date of receipt of the claim.

As The Journalist reported, the Court granted the decision to fine Kyivstar mobile operator for deception of its subscribers.
