Investors from U.S., UK bought USD 2 bln of Ukraine’s Eurobonds

Most of the Eurobonds, totaling USD 2 billion and issued by the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine, were bought by investors from the USA and the UK.

According to the Finclub inform agency, the placement of two eurobonds issues for USD 750 million (repay February 1, 2024) and USD 1.250 billion (repaying on November 1, 2028) was completed; securities are listed on the Euronext Dublin.

It is noted that 46% of the issue (USD 750 million worth) bought investors from the United States, 41% – from the United Kingdom, 12% – European investors.

46% of bonds of issue (USD 1,250 billion worth) were bought by investors from the United Kingdom, 37% – from the USA, 16% – from Europe.

It is also reported that the Ministry of Finance has repaid short-term discount debt securities issued on August 28, 2018 at USD 725 million. The remaining funds are transferred to the accounts of the State Treasury Service of Ukraine and will be used to finance the state budget.

As The Journalist reported, Ukraine’s Finance Ministry received UAH 2 bln at planned auction.
