The leaders of the National Police of Ukraine are considering the possibility of arming policemen with MP-5 submachine gun, a modern weapon with stopping power.
This was stated by the Head of the National Police of Ukraine, Serhii Knyazev during the exercises of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine units, the Communications Department of the National Police reported.
«We want to purchase and arm the entire police with MP-5 submachine gun,» – Knyazev said.
The Head of the National Police said that by the end of 2018, the special police unit (KOVD) will receive the necessary number of submachine guns that meet NATO standards.
In addition, the National Police is currently considering the possibility of providing its staff with housing through a system of financial leasing – the payment of cost of an apartment during service.
«The law enforcement officer, who has served in the police for a certain period of time, concludes a contract with one of the state institutions and receives housing. Then he pays for housing about 15-20% of cash allowance within 10-15 years. And interest on the loan, for example, will be minimal or will be taken over by the National Police,» – Knyazev said.
As The Journalist reported, National Police announced the creation of the Office of Strategic Investigations.
