The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine granted Ukrainians the right to choose to use a subsidy or a privilege on heat when paying for housing and communal services during the heating season.
This is reported by the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine on its website.
«If a family is entitled to a subsidy, but its size is too small and it is more expedient to pay for utilities, taking into account benefits, then it is necessary to submit an application to the social security agency of the population to discontinue the grant. And contrariwise if during the heating period it is better for the family to use the subsidy, then it is necessary to submit an application for the appointment of the subsidy,» the message says.
The main categories of beneficiaries eligible for municipal discounts from the state are: participants of the war (50% discount); family members of the dead (deceased) war veterans (50% discount); persons with special labor services to the Country, their widows (widowers) (100% discount); combatants (75% discount); persons with disabilities related to the trauma received at war (100% discount); liquidators of the Chernobyl accident and affected by the Chernobyl accident, 1st and 2nd categories (50% discount); victims of Nazi persecution (discount from 50 to 100%); children of war (25% discount).
