Ukrenergo has filed a lawsuit with the UN international arbitration against the Russian Federation. The company intends to seek compensation for the company’s assets lost in Crimea amid Russia’s annexation of the peninsula. This was reported by the press service of the company.
Ukrenergo claims arose after Russia seized the company’s assets, infrastructure facilities of the company as a result of the illegal occupation of the peninsula. The lawsuit filed in international arbitration is based on the provisions of the 1998 agreement on mutual protection of investments between Ukraine and Russia.
Earlier, some companies have already sought court decisions in their favor, based on the provisions of the above agreement.
