The Zhytomyr Armored Plant have handed over a batch of overhauled infantry fighting vehicles to the Ministry of Defense, Ukroboronprom informs.
Over two dozens of BMP-1 and about a dozen of BMP-2 were repaired as part of the 2020 state defense order.
The combat capability of all systems and assemblies was restored, faulty devices were replaced, weapons checked, etc. In addition, the modern navigation systems, optical devices and sights of domestic production were installed.
Additionally, modern diode infrared headlights and lighting headlights were installed on the machines.
Partly were used tracks made by Zhytomyr Armored Plant.
“Despite all the peculiarities of the enterprise’s work under the threat of coronavirus, the plant fulfills its obligations to the customer. The machines have passed the entire cycle of factory and acceptance tests,” the director of Zhytomyr Armored Plant Oleksiy Zhukovets said.
