The Chairman of The Board of the private company Ukrtatnafta, the operator of the Kremenchug refinery, Pavlo Ovcharenko has addressed with the letters to the Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman and to the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov with a request to develop and implement a set of measures to restrict imports of petroleum products from Russia, as well as increasing imports from other countries; increase Ukraine’s own production due to the destabilization threat for the country’s economy in the case of a possible abrupt cessation of fuel supplies from Russia.

This was reported by the press service of the enterprise.

«Ukrtatnafta considers it necessary to develop and implement a set of measures to limit the import of petroleum products from Russia; instead of this it is suggested to increase imports from other countries and increase Ukraine’s own petroleum production,» the report said.

It is noted that Russia indirectly, through supplies from Belarus, controls up to 80% of the Ukrainian diesel fuel market, and up to 75% of the liquefied gas market and up to 50% of gasoline.

«Therefore, the possible termination of supply is a directly threat to collapse not only the fuel market, but also the Ukrainian economy and national security,» the report says.

As The Journalist reported, the head of SJSC Khlib Ukrainy and the deputy mayor of Chernivtsi will be judged for extortion of bribes.
