The United Nations (UN) has raised more than half of the amount needed to provide vital humanitarian assistance to the residents of Donbass. This was reported by the UN press service.
In total, the UN requested USD 162 million in humanitarian assistance for 2.3 million people. To date, donors have provided USD 82 million of the required amount.
“We are grateful to the donors for their support of our humanitarian programs,” the UN press center said.
Recall that last week the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees sent 19 trucks of humanitarian aid to the temporarily occupied territory of Donbas. The cargo contained medicines, hygienic kits and building materials weighing a total of 157.3 tons.
As The Journalist reported, UN sends about 160 tonnes of humanitarian aid to Donbas.
