UN Security Council to meet over Putin’s decision to issue Russian passports in occupied Donbas

The UN Security Council will hold a meeting on Thursday (April 25) in New York over decision by the Russian authorities to simplify the procedure for granting Russian citizenship to residents of the temporarily occupied Donbas.

This was reported by a source in diplomatic circles, UNIAN informs.

“The meeting of the UN Security Council should be held today [April 25],” said in a statement.

As The Journalist reported, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed on April 24 a decree simplifying the procedure of granting Russian citizenship to residents of the temporarily occupied Donbas.
