UN: World sustained USD 3.4 trillion losses due to coronavirus pandemic

The coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic has already inflicted USD 3.4 trillion in losses to the planet’s population since early 2020. This was stated by the President of the 74th session of the UN General Assembly, Tijjani Muhammad-Bande of Nigeria, Interfax-Ukraine reports.

“According to the International Labor Organization, in 2020, people around the world suffered USD 3.4 trillion losses because of the coronavirus pandemic. All countries […] are currently under great pressure. No country in the world can withstand such difficulties. We, the UN, want to work together to overcome the COVID-19 pandemic,” Muhammad-Bande said.

At the same time, he focused on the need to create a new, stable system that will put an end wars in different countries.
