The Supreme Court has received three lawsuits from UOC-MP church communities concerning the resolution of the Verkhovna Rada of April 19, 2018 «On supporting the appeal of the President of Ukraine to the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew on granting Tomos to the Orthodox Church in Ukraine.»
This is reported on the the website of the Judicial Authority of Ukraine.
«As of October 30, the Court has received three claims from various plaintiffs. Two of them will be considered with simplified action proceedings on the available materials, without calling the parties, in the period established by Article 258 (no more than 60 days from the date of the opening of the proceedings) of the Administrative Procedure Code of Ukraine. Proceedings on these cases were open on October 8, 9. Another case is scheduled for consideration at the court hearing with the notification (challenge) of the parties on November 27, 2018 at 10.30 a.m.,» the statement said.
It is noted that the simplified proceedings will consider the claim of the Religious Community of the UOC at the Church of St. Nicholas of the Berdyansk Diocese, Zaporizhia Oblast, and the Gorodnitsky St. George Monastery in Stavropii (Zhytomyr Oblast) statement. And the suit filed by Bishop Gedeon (Yuri Charon, also known for his involvement in history with the erection of the UOC-MP chapel near the historical museum on Volodymyrska St. in Kyiv – ed.) will be considered on November 27.
