A group of individuals with ties to the US President Donald Trump and his personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani tried to install a new management at the top of Ukraine’s Naftogaz. In particular, it was proposed to replace Andriy Kobolyev with Andrii Favorov, Associated Press reported.

Referring to sources familiar with the situation, the publication states that similar attempts were made in the spring of 2018. Lev Parnassus, Ihor Fruman and Harry Sargant III are in the group of businessmen and all of them are clients of Giuliani. According to the AP, in early March, Fruman, Parnas and Sargant were touting a plan to replace Naftogaz CEO Andrii Kobolyev with manager of the gas company Andrii Favorov.

“To achieve the goal, they advertised their ties with Giuliani and Trump,” the article says.

However, their plans were not implemented.
