US Congress calls for new hearings on Russia’s interference in 2016 elections

A high-ranking Republican legislator in House of Representatives Legal Committee of the US Congress, Doug Collins, called for new hearings on interference of the Russian Federation and other countries in the US 2016 presidential election and other political processes, as “Voice of America” reports.

“I ask for holding immediate, comprehensive and productive hearings on the issue of Russia’s ability to influence our elections. We should protect our citizens from these criminal acts”, said Collins.

This call was made in the context of the ongoing efforts of the Legal Committee to obtain documents and evidences related to the report by Special Prosecutor Muller, who led the investigation of the Russian interference.

In his turn, the Chairman of the Legal Committee, Gerrold Nadler, in his reply does not mention about need for new hearings.
