The US administration has officially designated the elite military formation – the Iran’s Revolutionary Guards (IRGC), which provides power support for the current government in Iran, as terrorist organization. Ukrinform reports.
The Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said on April 8 that the IRGC, including their Kurdish forces, is recognized as a foreign terrorist organization.
It is noted that this decision “will take effect in a week from today.”
IRGC is a state military structure in Iran, officially part of the country’s Armed Forces as an elite militarized unit supporting the current government in Tehran.
