The United States handed over to the Armed Forces of Ukraine (APU) two modern counter-battery radars of the AN / TPQ-36 class, the Ministry of Defense reported.
From the American side, lieutenant colonel of the US Army Tod Gough handed over certificates of possession of the most modern means of counter-battery struggle.
Gough stressed that the transfer of modern weapons to Ukrainian military is the desire of the US government and people to help Ukraine defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity. Now such radars are already protecting the territory of Ukraine in the east.
“The technology of these radars will give the soldiers of Ukrainian army confidence in the event of danger and during enemy attacks from closed positions. These samples will help the Ukrainian defenders to confidently respond to the means of fire destruction of the enemy and ensure the accuracy of the destruction of enemy targets,” the US Army officer emphasized.
It should be noted that since 2014, American partners have transferred 13 modern counter-battery radars to units of Armed Forces of Ukraine.
