The United States has imposed sanctions on Turkey. Four Turkish officials and the administration of the country’s defense industry fell under the restrictions. This is stated on the website of the US Treasury Department.
The sanctions were imposed against the secretariat of the defense industry of Turkey and its head Ismail Demir. US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo called on Turkey to immediately resolve the S-400 problem in coordination with the United States.
Ankara condemned Washington’s imposition of sanctions against Turkey and called on the United States to correct this “serious mistake.” The corresponding statement was released by the Turkish Foreign Ministry.
