Tibor Nagy, a senior US diplomat for Africa, arrived in Sudan. The purpose of his visit is to contribute to resolving the conflict between the military authorities and the opposition, as Reuters reports.
The diplomat met with the leaders of the opposition coalition and held talks with the Acting Deputy Foreign Minister of Sudan Ilham Ibrahim.
In the meantime, the Sudanese opposition demanded the transitional Military Council to immediately withdraw the army units from the country’s localities and replace them with police officers, as RBK-Ukraine reports.
We remind that in Sudan an attempted coup against the interim Military Council has been made.
