Former campaign chairman of US President Donald Trump and adviser advisor to ex-Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych, Paul Manafort received USD 31 million from Ukrainian politicians for providing political consultations in 2012.
This is reported by The Washington Post.
FBI Financial Reporting Expert Morgan Magionos testified that over USD 60 million flowed through Manafort’s foreign accounts between 2010 and 2014, of which USD 15 million he spent on houses, clothes and other purchases.
The prosecution side believes that Manafort did not pay taxes from all the incomes that he received in Ukraine between 2010 and 2014.
At the same time, according to the FBI expert, the year 2012 was the most profitable for Manafort, as he received more than USD 31 million from Ukrainian politicians and saved more than USD 27 million from these funds. In 2012 Manafort spent more than USD 9.2 million, mainly purchasing real estate.
As The Journalist reported, Manafort’s accountant has agreed to cooperate with the investigation.
