“From now on, such position as “UN ambassador” will act in Ukraine. But for its full functioning, it will be necessary to revise the agreement between Ukraine and the UN signed back in 1992, which no longer meets modern realities,” Yelchenko notes.
“UN Ambassadors” will be subordinate to the UN Secretary-General, and will be considered the highest representatives of the UN system from each participating country. They will not only implement development programs, but will also contribute to improving overall coordination between the agencies of the UN system.
