The Ukrainian state concern Ukroboronprom for the first time presented a joint project, the Al-Wahash armored personnel carrier (APC) with the BM-3M Sturm combat module.
According to Ukroboronprom’s press service, the armored vehicle was presented at the international exhibition IDEX-2019, which is held in the Abu Dhabi (UAE).
“This combat module is being installed on the BTR-3, which is serially manufactured by the Kyiv Armored Plant and has successfully passed tough combat tests in Eastern Ukraine. Thanks to a modern digital complex with a laser rangefinder, as well as a gun stabilizer, the BM-3M Sturm delivers high precision automatic 30-mm cannon fire, a machine gun and an automatic grenade launcher, as well as the Barrier guided weapon system,” the report said.
In addition, the combat module provides the Al-Wahash armored personnel carrier with a powerful arsenal for destroying enemy at a distance of up to 5 km in all weather conditions and at any time of the day.
