The Amazon online store began testing of an Amazon Scout robot courier.
Amazon Scout is made in the form of a trolley with a niche for the goods inside. It was developed by Seattle’s company detachment: any technical details has not been provided so far, but it was noted that the robot easily avoids all possible obstacles on the sidewalk. It can be assumed from this that the basis of its navigation is computer vision technology.
So far, six delivery robots will be working in Snohomish and will deliver goods to customers on weekdays. Follow the route laid for delivery Scout will be on its own, but the company clarified that the first time it will be accompanied by an Amazon employee.
