Armenian President Armen Sarkissian has signed a decree appointing Nikol Pashinyan as country’s Prime Minister. This is stated on the presidential website.
“In accordance with Article 149 of the Constitution, appoint Nikol Pashinyan as the Prime Minister,” the decree says.
According to Article 149 of the Constitution of Armenia, the Prime Minister is not elected by Parliament, but is appointed by the President.
Recall that after the government resigned, Nikol Pashinyan has acted as prime minister.
As The Journalist reported, the CEC refused to register two presidential candidates.
