The Head of ammunition depots near Ichnia in Chernihiv Oblast was dismissed from his post in August this year due to facility’s unreadiness to counteract possible sabotage acts, said the Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko.
«The units of the Special Forces carried out testing of all warehouses in Ukraine in August regarding readiness for anti-diversion tasks. According to the results of these exercises across Ukraine, in particular, the Head of the Ichnia warehouse was removed from his post and retired without severance pay,» – said Lutsenko.
«It is obvious that even after the Military prosecutor’s office, in cooperation with the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff, conducted the total inspections last fall, the plans on improving the security of military warehouses in Ichnia were not implemented,» – UNIAN news agency quoted the Prosecutor General, as saying.
