NATO ships entered the Black Sea

Today, May 2, the ships of the second permanent naval group of the North Atlantic Alliance (NATO) entered the Black Sea area, reported «Dumskaya».

In the group of ships that entered the Black Sea water area – ships of Spain, Turkey and Germany. The group includes frigates of the Spanish naval forces (Spanish Navy) SPS Victoria (F82), the Turkish Navy TCG Gemlik (F492), the German Navy FGS Bayern (F217) and several smaller ships. The flagship of the group is the British missile destroyer HMS Duncan (D37).
Note, that in March 2018, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has stated that Ukraine aims to become a member of the North Atlantic Alliance in the next ten years «We now need an action plan to become a full-fledged NATO member. We want to get this plan by the end of 2019»,- said the President.
