NATO to hold naval exercises in Black Sea

Romanian naval forces organize Poseidon 19 international drills in Romanian territorial waters and international waters of the western Black Sea, the press service of the Romanian Navy informs.

The report notes that naval exercises will be held from March 1 to March 8.

“The Romanian Navy will participate with 10 ships, four ships from the compound of the second permanent NATO naval anti-mine group (SNMCMG2), as well as two high-speed diving support boats. The second permanent anti-mine group of NATO is headed by military transport ship FGS Werra with the commander of the German Navy, Martin Schwartz on board. The group also includes the Turkish minesweeper TCG Akcakoca, the Romanian ship ROS Lt. Lupu Dinescu and the Bulgarian BGS Tsibar,” the statement reads.

In turn, the air part of the exercises will be provided by a Puma Naval helicopter, two MiG-21 fighters and two F-16 fighters of the Romanian Air Force.
