Nord Stream 2 pipeline is under construction in Germany

On the night of July 25, Nord Stream 2 Company began laying the first pipes of the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline near the northern German town of Lubmin in the Greifswald Gulf.

The pipelay vessel Castoro 10 started operating on the ground docking station. Thus, gas will be supplied directly from Russia to Germany.

At the first stage, segments of pipes, welded to each other on the ship, will be laid along an underground tunnel leading to the ground receiving station, writes DW.

Nord Stream 2 Company started to build a 30-kilometer underwater tunnel in the coastal waters two months ago. In August , company will start laying the pipes.

The construction of the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline is planned to be completed by the end of 2019. Note, that Ukraine, the Baltic countries and Poland are against the construction.

As The Journalist reported, European Commission cannot stop «Nord Stream-2» construction.
