Scientists have discovered on the territory of Egypt an ancient embalming shop, the Fox News reported.
The find was made in the Necropolis of Saqqara in Memphis. According to archaeologists, the workshop dates back to the Late Kingdom and dates from around 664-404 BC.
Among the discovered artifacts were the gilded silver mask of the mummy, ritual canopy vessels, in which were stored the organs extracted from the bodies of the deceased, clay and earthenware bowls.
Presumably, the findings will be exhibited in the Great Egyptian Museum, which is due to open in the fall of 2018.
